What does it mean to be politically involved?

Being involved in our everyday decision making process is important. It ensures that we learn how things come to be, and have a hand in making life equitable. We have a hand in righting wrongs, and we have a say in shaping what our future looks like. Being involved doesn’t stop at voting. I would even venture to say it starts there. We must discuss issues that we care about, things that we know need change, and even dare to talk about things that we don’t believe can change. That is where the change begins. Daring to dream about the world as it should be, while we strategically navigate the world as it is. Being politically involved starts in the streets. To know our community members and build strong relationships is the foundation to forging political change.
